Last Saturday, April 20, Coopealianza celebrated its LI Ordinary General Assembly 2024 with great success. The activity took place at the Radisson Hotel in San José, with the participation of 254 delegates from all over the country, as well as special guests and Coopealianza staff who attended the activity.
This year the theme of the activity was: “Committed to suitability and asset strengthening”, which emphasizes actions that strengthen the suitability of decision makers in the company, which has been a banner that has intensified in recent years, since their responsibility falls directly on guaranteeing business sustainability and permanence. .
As a prelude to the Assembly, the Democratic Forum 19 was held on Friday, April 2024, where candidates for the Board of Directors and Surveillance Committee were given space to present themselves to the delegates and express their interest in aspiring to the corresponding positions.
On Saturday, at 8:00 am, the LI Assembly 2024 began, in the second call, which was carried out successfully and in accordance with the cooperative principle. democratic participation of its members.
The Assembly authorized the payment of the surpluses registered as of December 31, 2023, for an amount of ¢3,273,437,429.22, proportionally to the Social Capital contributed by each associate, taking as reference the initial balance as of January 1, 2023.
Likewise, the partial reform of the Social Statute of Coopealianza was approved in a fluid manner and the 2024 electoral process was carried out to elect five members of the Board of Directors and one of the Surveillance Committee.
In the case of the Board of Directors, the delegates elected Ericka Gamboa Segura, Greivin Mora Gómez and Cesar Rodríguez Solórzano as owners, as well as Alberto Bejarano Valverde and Luis Fernando Vargas Mora, as substitutes. For its part, Xinia Carmona Valverde was elected as a substitute member of the Surveillance Committee.
In this Assembly, the work carried out by retired officials of the Cooperative for the period 2022-2023 was also highlighted, and they were thanked for their valuable collaboration.
